Apply. Win. Do good!

LightPrize 2022.

Lighting technology today offers a wide range of sustainable innovations for indoor and outdoor areas. This is made tangible by the coveted "LichtPreis", which has been awarded within the industry every two years since 2014 at the Hamburg trade fair GET Nord. Brumberg Leuchten GmbH & Co KG - itself highly committed to sustainability - supports this award as an official partner.

Hamburg/Sundern. Lighting innovations, energy efficiency, design - this is the motto under which the industry will meet again this year at the GET Nord 2022 trade fair at the stand of the Northern Electrical Associations of Hamburg, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Lower Saxony and Schleswig-Holstein. Electrical tradespeople from northern Germany have until the end of August to submit interesting lighting projects and hope to win the coveted prize. In addition to the achievements of the electrical trade, the focus is on lighting technology requirements, energy efficiency, design aspects and project management.

Planning sustainability. And implement it.

"As a company that sells sustainable products and works intensively on its own eco-balance, it is virtually obligatory to participate constructively in this project," says Brumberg Sales Manager Frank Lamontagne. "We particularly like the fact that the winners are giving the green light with their prize money and thus supporting a regional and sustainable project that saves CO2." Sustainability and CO2 savings can be planned and implemented in many areas of the lighting sector - including through the use of sustainable materials or efficiency savings in energy consumption. LED luminaires meet the highest climate protection requirements and are the best alternative to other light sources, especially for street, office and industrial lighting with high operating hours. The major advantages of LED luminaires in terms of sustainability are their extremely long service life, their low energy consumption, their natural light colors and the fact that they contain no mercury and emit neither IR nor UV radiation.

Be active. And become a pioneer.

Werner Laux, Head of Marketing at Brumberg, knows: "We are doing a lot to set a good example. We are currently taking part in an eco-fit program to address the relevant points for sustainable management. We are being taught the contents of "Cleaner Production" with the aim of subsequently being audited against a catalog of criteria and having our environmental management system certified in accordance with ISO 14001." At Brumberg, this means continuously developing more sustainably according to a step-by-step plan. This includes energy-saving measures in buildings, the use of a photovoltaic system and products made from recyclable materials such as aluminum, metal or plastic.

Doing good. And profit.

According to Werner Laux, the hope that environmentally friendly, energy-saving and recyclable products would open up new sales markets has become a reality: "With the right balance and approach, the approach increases the profitability and value of the company. In the future, public clients and large companies will pursue the ESG-compliant awarding of contracts (E = Environmental, S = Social and G = Governance). We are focusing on reducing the consumption of resources (raw materials, energy, packaging materials, etc.) and are considering sensible recycling concepts in order to reduce material costs accordingly. We are convinced that authentic sustainability enhances the brand image and therefore also customer loyalty."
