Sustainable and dynamic light creates comfort and quality of living.

With individual and efficient lighting solutions from Brumberg, you succeed in creating pleasant lighting moods. Because when hectic and sensory overload determine modern everyday life, retreat into the private sphere becomes increasingly important. At home, people can regenerate, create their own feel-good ambience and feel secure.
Lighting concepts for home and living are geared to the rooms, their use and the habits of the occupants. For example, good lighting is essential in the
entrance and hallway areas, as well as for the checkroom and mirror. A bright hallway has a friendly effect and helps guests find their way around. Work areas such as the kitchen and home office also need adequate lighting. In the modern living room, dimmable or dynamic light that is oriented to times of day and activities ensures a relaxed atmosphere.
Brumberg offers variable lighting solutions for the living room in particular. They promote activity during the day and support the need for rest in the evening. High-quality, energy-efficient and long-lasting interior luminaires create high-quality light.

Entrance area.

The entrance area is the calling card of every property. This is where guests are welcomed and gain their first impressions, residents enter and leave their home. The entrance is a "passageway" that should invite you to arrive and stay.

Bright basic lighting with dimming.
The combination of bright and dimmable ambient lighting is therefore ideal. In this way, security and a pleasant atmosphere can be combined as required. The light in the inner entrance area should always be coordinated with the directly adjacent outdoor area.

Arriving here is a pleasure.

Tips.

  1. Brightly lit entrance areas look friendly and inviting. The lighting helps with quick orientation.
  2. Brightly illuminating pictures, wardrobes or objects makes the room more interesting and creates a pleasant atmosphere.
  3. Plan luminaire outlets early in the construction phase; if this is no longer possible, track with inserted spotlights can solve the problem.

Guest bathroom.

Here, the light should be carefully matched to the various activities and areas. If you want to stage different lighting situations, you need different light sources and installation locations.

Excellent color rendering.
With mirror lighting, for example, excellent color rendering is important. The light should make the face appear in as natural a color as possible natural color and illuminate it evenly. An orientation light also helps you to find your way around at night.

Natural color rendering and good orientation.

Tips.

  1. Small rooms are staged using a variety of lighting solutions that can also be switched or dimmed in different ways.
  2. Underlighting furnishings creates an interesting effect and makes them float in the room, while the light also helps with orientation at night.
  3. Separately switchable or dimmable ceiling or wall lights create options for lighting the respective situation in the room.

Utility room.

In modern residential buildings with a spa bathroom and open-plan kitchen, the utility room is the place to store the cleaning bucket and hoover.
The washing machine and dryer are also hidden and operated here.

Homogeneous lighting.
Homogeneous, uniform lighting brings the benefits of the utility room to the fore. The requirements range from good illumination of the storage space to glare-free task lighting.

Functional light for housework.

Tips.

  1. Flat light in the surface-mounted or recessed version achieves the desired result.
  2. Good color rendering supports daily use.
  3. The use of a motion detector increases comfort and has a positive effect on the energy balance.

Kitchen.

Many people feel most at home in the kitchen: preparing meals or keeping the chef company. Party guests also like to gather between the stove and worktop. The kitchen is a favorite place whose areas have different lighting requirements.

Brightness when cooking.
Anyone cutting, cooking or frying food on the worktop or at the stove needs brightness. Ideally, the lights should be positioned decentrally, close to the walls or windows, so that the light shines almost shadow-free from above or from the side. The walkways around the work surfaces should be widely illuminated from the ceiling.

Illuminate the work areas individually.

Tips.

  1. Match the light color to the furniture fronts so that the colors of the surfaces are not distorted.
  2. Ensure very good colour rendering in the work area. This makes the food to be processed look appetising.
  3. For orientation, it is sufficient if the lighting is partially dimmed in operation.

Dining room.

Residents and guests meet in the dining room. This is where people often sit together with family and friends for long periods of time. Flexible lighting can be adapted to the time of day and different occasions and always creates the right atmosphere.

Illuminate the table top well.
Dining table lighting has two central tasks: It must illuminate the tabletop in an atmospheric way and must not obscure or even dazzle the people sitting at the tableor even dazzle those sitting at the table. Depending on the room design, pendant lights or recessed spotlights can fulfil these tasks. Pendant lights should also be dimmable and height-adjustable and designed to match the shape of the table.

Glare-free and flexible light at the table.

Tips.

  1. The use of pendant luminaires zones the area of the table, dividing the room into different areas.
  2. Additional decorative floor and table lamps create a pleasant, cosy atmosphere.
  3. Lighting management systems help to adapt the light to the respective situation.

Living room.

The living area is the centre of the house. It is used for various activities - from conversations and TV evenings to reading.
People enjoy time for themselves or with the family on armchairs and sofas. The lighting should therefore fulfil functional tasks as well as creating a pleasant atmosphere.

Variable lighting.
Variable lighting puts the various activities in the living area in the best light. The interplay of direct and indirect lighting creates beautiful moods. This allows the light pattern to be optimally adapted to the respective activities of those present.

Soothing atmosphere through light and colours.

Tips.

  1. Pivoting lighting solutions create interesting effects on the wall and/or pictures or art objects.
  2. Backlighting of wall panels creates atmosphere with a slow colour gradient.
  3. A structurally suspended ceiling disc creates more options for installing luminaires and generating indirect light.

Hobby room.

Today, gaming includes table football and pool tables as well as high-performance PCs and games consoles. Many gamers set up a separate room for their a separate room for their hobby. The lighting can also pick up on what is happening on the screen and play with colour accents.

Illuminate play equipment individually.
The individual gaming devices each require their own lighting. Coloured LED flex boards create the right gaming atmosphere in the room. Dimmable lights are used to increase comfort, with both indirect and direct lighting depending on the intended use.

The right light for every activity.

Tips.

  1. Not all hobbies are the same. The lighting should be geared to the different requirements and should always be dimmable.
  2. Table tops, table football or pool tables should be directly illuminated.
  3. Optional wall lights serve as decorative elements and support the respective lighting situation in the room.

Staircase.

Whether it's a maisonette flat or a private home - in many residential units, stairs are part of the architecture. The right light can prevent accidents caused by tripping.
To achieve this, the individual steps must be clearly recognisable both when going up and down.

Glare-free ambient lighting with step lights.
Luminaires installed on the top landing and/or step lights positioned along the staircase provide the necessary safety.
The ambient lighting should also be bright here, but should not dazzle or cast irritating shadows.

Good lighting for quick orientation.

Tips.

  1. Be sure to illuminate the most important traffic routes in the house without glare.
  2. When illuminating steps, pay attention to the material of the steps. With high-gloss surfaces, strong reflections are to be expected, which must be avoided.
  3. Distant walls can be beautifully brightened. This creates spatial depth and a distant effect on the viewer.

Corridor.

Corridors usually have no windows and require 24-hour lighting. Doors or stairs lead to the other living rooms and floors. If you want to set special accents, you can also illuminate furniture and pictures. Additional lights on furniture or in corners create extra atmosphere.

Wall and ceiling luminaires with presence detector.
Wall and ceiling luminaires can be used to illuminate a corridor directly and indirectly from above and to the sides. At night, an orientation light guides the way. If it is equipped with a motion detector, the light switches on as required and according to the parameter settings as soon as someone needs light in the hallway - during the day or at night.

The interplay of direct and indirect light.

Tips.

  1. In corridors, indirect light changes the situation in a positive way as it makes the area appear larger.
  2. Wall luminaires in long corridors cause a visual shortening, as the eye is orientated towards the luminaires.
  3. Presence detectors increase comfort and have a positive effect on the energy balance.

Bedroom.

The bed is at the centre of every bedroom. That's why the right light is crucial here, even though the eyes are closed most of the time.

Good general lighting.
Every bedroom needs good general lighting. The second element is the bedside light - on both sides of the double bed. If one partner wants to read while the other is asleep, separately switchable and dimmable lights are necessary. A light switch by the bed that can control all the lights in the room is practical. In the evening, a warm white light helps you relax. Cold white in the morning has an energising effect and makes it easier to start the day.

Idirect light accents create a cosy atmosphere.

Tips.

  1. Illumination via reflections and indirect light on the bed creates a pleasantly soft light.
  2. Underlighting furniture creates a cosy feeling in the room.
  3. It doesn't always have to be a table lamp. Permanently installed lights on each side of the bed also increase comfort.

Dressing Room.

One of the many challenges in the morning is choosing the right outfit. The perfect style can only be found in the right light. Because only then can colours and fabrics be authentically recognised.

Excellent colour rendering.
In the dressing room, the lighting must provide a good overview of all the items of clothing present by homogeneously illuminating the interior of the storage system. If the lighting also ensures excellent colour rendition, it is easy to select the right items of clothing and accessories.

Good illumination of the storage system.

Tips.

  1. Select the position of the luminaire depending on the lighting angle. Rotating or pivoting versions increase the flexibility of the illumination.
  2. Place the dressing room lighting directly on the mirror or behind it. This provides the best illumination for the viewer.
  3. Backlighting the storage system makes it appear brighter and higher.

Storeroom.

The storeroom offers space for all the things that are not needed every day. If they are needed, they should be available without having to search for them. without a long search. Open the door, switch on the light and access them - that's the ideal situation. This requires good lighting throughout the storage room.

Room-filling general lighting.
As the storeroom is purely a storage room, the light must be functional and illuminate storage areas well. This is achieved with room-filling general lighting.

Functional lighting with motion detector.

Tips.

  1. Functional light is created through the use of large, wide-area luminaires.
  2. A bright room design has a positive effect on the illumination of this area.
  3. The use of a motion detector increases functionality and room utilisation. The device also contributes to increased comfort and energy optimisation.

Workroom.

The home office is used for private or professional activities. The PC or tablet is usually switched on, documents need to be processed, sorted and filed. Above all, the light should create optimum conditions for concentrated work.

Glare-free working light.
In the workroom, the combination of indirect room lighting and direct workplace lighting is ideal. Evenly distributed brightness promotes the ability to concentrate. A level of between 300 and 500 lux is recommended for general lighting. Distracting shadows can also be avoided if light is planned to enter from the left for right-handers and from the right for left-handers.

Light for concentrated work.

Tips.

  1. Individually positioned free-standing luminaires offer highly flexible workplace lighting. It is also possible to install presence detectors with or without daylight-dependent measurement.
  2. Lighting positioned directly on the cupboard makes a positive contribution to the lighting concept.
  3. By using dimmers, users can adjust the light to suit their individual needs and thus promote a sense of well-being.

Guest room.

If the visitor is staying overnight, the home should be inviting and provide a degree of privacy. Curtains, blinds and roller blinds that guests can adjust themselves are ideal for this. Bright, pleasant light also makes the room much cosier.

Orientation light with light islands.
A well-designed guest room needs lighting that is focussed on function and design. Good general lighting is necessary so that guests can find their way around the unfamiliar surroundings. Discreet islands of light to create a sense of well-being complement the lighting concept.

Good orientation in a foreign environment.

Tips.

  1. Generously dimensioned lighting should be installed for general lighting.
  2. The use of table or floor lamps is recommended to create a cosy atmosphere.
  3. Several installed light scenes, which guests can call up personally according to their needs, contribute to the increase in comfort.

Children's room.

The children's room is a place of retreat and a meeting place for siblings and friends. Children and young people go through different phases of life in their room, during which the interior design also changes. The lighting concept must be designed to be correspondingly dynamic and flexible.

Illuminate different areas separately.
All areas of the room should be illuminated separately: The bed for sleeping and reading, the desk for studying and playing on the PC. To protect children's sensitive eyes, the light must not dazzle or be too bright. Parents should therefore choose pivoting and dimmable lights with a warm light tone. A night light also allows children to fall asleep more peacefully.

Dynamic lighting for all stages of life.

Tips.

  1. Combine luminaires into groups to control them according to the needs of the application in the room.
  2. RGBW lighting is a highlight in any room. This allows you to experience the different light colours in the room.
  3. Position lights without a furniture plan and group them into zones. The use of the room will change constantly in the following years.

Bathroom.

Bathrooms have become much more important in everyday life: A pick-me-up in the morning and a private wellness oasis in the evening. The light should adapt to the different moods without any problems.

Accent lighting for relaxation.
To turn the bathroom into an oasis of well-being, good basic brightness is just as important as accent lighting in the evening, which has a relaxing effect on body and mind.
Wherever moisture and electricity come together, the luminaires used also require increased IP protection.

Lighting for waking up and relaxing.

Tips.

  1. For a better complexion, always use only warm white light colours in dimmable luminaires.
  2. Separately switchable/dimmable lighting groups visualise the different areas and support the respective activity.
  3. Illumination on the mirror from above causes shadows on the face. Better: choose a lighting situation in which the light hits the face from the right and left.
