LOOP - Light Of Ocean Plastic. With the first LED recessed spotlight housing whose plastic content consists of 100 percent "Recycled Ocean Plastic", Brumberg is setting new standards for sustainable lighting solutions on the global market that reflect high quality, functionality and aesthetics.

Plastic waste in the sea and fishing nets floating around in the ocean are a global catastrophe that we must do something about. Because sustainability is not just a fleeting trend. For more and more consumers, this is precisely an important factor in their purchasing decisions.

Brumberg will initially offer Loop in two variants: The first variant includes the recessed housing, with a choice of more than 30 different LED modules and converters with a wide range of technologies, depending on lighting requirements. Customers also have the option of choosing a LOOP®-set with all predefined components, where even the plastic housing of the converter is made of 100% recycled Ocean Plastic. All parts of the luminaire are recyclable and the packaging is also environmentally friendly thanks to plastic-free materials.

The path to recyclable and high-quality plastic begins, for example, with the collection of discarded fishing nets on beaches and coasts. These are then cleaned, sorted, shredded and processed into recycled polyamide. The result is a material that meets the highest quality standards and is preferably used in high technology.

One way to compensate for at least part of the marine pollution is to collect and recycle the raw materials that are carelessly thrown away. Manfred Goeke, the product manager responsible, says, "We decided to use the RCS (Recycled Claim Standard) - a standard for tracing recycled raw materials within a supply chain. This way we can be sure that we only use ocean plastic - in this case fishing nets - for our LOOP product." The RCS 2.0 is a globally applicable standard and, in the case of the LOOP luminaire, certified for the global market.
