SunLike

Back to natural light.

Humans have lived in sunlight for tens of thousands of years. Lanterns did not appear until the 3rd century BC. The use of white LEDs for lighting began less than 20 years ago, but quickly spread around the world thanks to their high efficiency and low cost. Instead of focusing on the quality of light, however, the emphasis here has been on cost and brightness, because the light is very different from natural sunlight, to which the human biorhythm has adapted.

SunLike LEDs produce light that is almost the same as sunlight, creating much more beautiful and natural lighting conditions. It provides all the benefits of natural light, minimizes the deficits of an artificial light source and provides sun-like light.

SunLike series LED technology produces light with almost the same spectrum as natural sunlight - a revolution for the production of a natural light spectrum. We are convinced that SunLike LEDs will improve our quality of life, because now people are at the center of lighting technology. They will enable a better and healthier life.

Side effects of blue light minimized. Some recent studies from Harvard University and other well-known universities show that blue LED chips, like those used in most commercial LEDs to produce visible light, positively stimulate the human eye. Attention and mood are improved when the light is used during the day. However, if these LEDs produce a "peak" in the blue spectrum at night, then this can have a negative effect on a person's biorhythm when used for extended periods of time. The natural light spectrum of SunLike LEDs uses a violet LED along with a TRI-R phosphor compound to avoid the typical "peaks" in blue light and produce a more natural light similar to the solar spectrum and therefore healthier.

Premium color rendering through SunLike. Many research institutions have found that human organs and biorhythms respond best to natural sunlight because they have been accustomed to it for thousands of years. Human retinal cells evaluate color-related light information using red, blue and green cones, with blue receptors making up only 5.7 percent of the total.

Since our eyes only accept a limited amount of blue light, blue light is scattered above this limit. This scattered light causes the structure and color of objects to appear distorted. In addition, too much blue light can overstress retinal cells and worsen concentration.

Because the light spectrum of SunLike LEDs is almost identical to sunlight, color and texture appear as in natural light, without negative effects on eyes or biorhythm. Products with Toshiba TRI-R technology have already been used at Milan Fashion Week and in several art museums.

Applications

SunLike is used in commercial areas where the most accurate color rendering is required. Typical examples are department stores, stores, horticulture, exhibition spaces such as museums and exhibition halls, but also in cosmetic environments such as changing rooms or bathrooms.

The Brumberg LED inserts with SunLike technology are available as MR16 or as QR111.
