the 5th generation - Johannes Brumberg jun. becomes managing director

Johannes Brumberg jun. becomes managing director and supports his parents Antoinette and Johannes Brumberg from now on.

2003

reinforcement

Johannes Brumberg jun. has started to support the company of his parents after his successful graduation in business management in Minster and Hannover. After working in each department of the company, his main responsibility is the management support in all business matters.

1985

a new start - the company’s tradition has been continued

As a result of the economic crisis and differences, the lighting company Josef Brumberg had been closed in 1985, but the company was refound and kept on the family tradition.

1972

the 4th generation - Hermann Josef and Johannes Brumberg took over the business management

In 1972 the brothers Hermann Josef and Johannes Brumberg took over the business management.

1950

again large fire - BRUMBERG has been saved

In 1950, the factory was destroyed again by a large fire and unfortunately, almost all important documents, design drawings and other things as well. However, the enterprise could been saved again.

1945

the 2nd World War - production of military requirements

During the Second World War the production had to change to military requirements and finally in 1945 by the order of the occupying power, the company had been evacuated.

1933

the 3rd generation - Josef and Walter took over the business

In 1933, the two sons Josef and Walter Brumberg took over the business after a couple of setbacks.

1914

fire destroys the whole production - global economic crisis after First World War

In 1914, the whole production was destroyed by a large fire, but even the following First World War followed by the global economic crisis, we were succeeded in overcoming.

1892

the 2nd generation - son Josef keeps running the business

After the death of the company`s founder in 1892, his son Josef continued the business successfully and by the end of the 19th century already, the wide product range of the company was well known and enhanced the prestige within the lighting branch. Furthermore, by the increasing development within the electricity, the meaning of electric luminaires became more and more important.

1890

throwbacks for BRUMBERG - flood disaster

In 1890 almost the whole production was destroyed by a flood disaster.

1875

paraffin lamps - the start with accessories

Due to the fact that in the close settled city Neheim the production of paraffin lamps for the ore mining had already been started, BRUMBERG changed its production in 1875 at first to accessories, later on to complete paraffin lamps as well.

1873

company foundation - five generations BRUMBERG

In 1873, the BRUMBERG company was founded by the businessman Hermann Josef Brumberg of the same name. He descends from an old farmer-and retailer family. It was one of the first metalworking factories in Sundern.
